Wind, Solar and Pylon Map

CPRW supports renewable energy solutions like wind and solar when they work in harmony with Wales’ landscapes and communities. Our goal is to ensure that the transition to clean energy happens responsibly, balancing progress with the protection of the countryside we all cherish. Unfortunately, the map below is a sobering reality of the impact to our Welsh country. 

This map below shows the routes of all new pylon lines proposed by Bute/Green GEN Cymru. Existing and planned wind farms are shown, those proposed by Bute Energy as well as other companies.

KEY:
Steel lattice pylons lines = red, with darker individual pylon markers where known
Option B alternative mid section of Towy-Usk = pink with darker pylon markers
Wood pole overhead lines = brown, with darker pole location markers where known
Underground cable section = purple
Planned wind farms = dark orange
Existing wind farms or under construction = light orange
Speculative wind farm locations = lilac-pink (option in map menu)
Wind turbine planned = blue (option in map menu)
Wind turbine existing = grey-blue (option in map menu)
