A national charity branch which is dedicated to protecting the unique landscapes of Wales and championing the rural way of life, has announced the 2023 Rural Wales Award winner.

CPRW Caernarfonshire is presenting the Rural Wales Award to Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, the Art Gallery in Llanbedrog. The public are invited to attend the award ceremony on Thursday 16thNovember at 12:30pm. The award is being given for the new Urchin Café.

The Rural Wales Awards has been running for over 30 years and shine a spotlight on businesses who are making a difference in the community and leading the way on environmental and conservation approaches.

 saidWe are sure this Urchin Café will delight all who see it, and all who use it, and this is why we are giving it our Rural Wales Award. This award is also a tribute to the vision and courage of the Plas Trustees in adopting this ground-breaking and successful design.”

The ceremony will start with a light lunch at 12:30pm and the award will be presented to Gwyn Jones, the Director, and his staff from Plas Glyn-y-Weddw at 1.30pm. The architects will also be on hand to say a few words and answer questions.

There will be an opportunity to view the current art exhibition and for a walk on the Allt woodland paths which, together with a new amphitheatre, won the Rural Wales Award ten years ago.
