Landowners in Court …. Again!

A recent court hearing at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court involved fourteen landowners (four from Ceredigion) who contested Green Generation Cymru’s application for warrants to survey their land for proposed pylon lines in the Towy and Teifi Valleys. Some of the landowners were visibly upset, and community groups rallied outside to show their support for opposing the intrusive surveys. Due to pressure from a heavyweight legal team, the landowners ultimately signed licence agreements, leading to Green Gen’s withdrawal of the warrant applications.

However, the strong public opposition reveals a growing tension between the company and local communities, who are determined to protect their beautiful landscapes from industrialisation. Critics argue that Green Gen’s actions prioritise financial interests over community welfare.

It is essential to note that these pylon lines are being planned to transmit electricity generated from Bute Energy’s proposed wind farms in the Cambrian Mountains, which would further blight the beautiful landscapes that we take pride in and are fighting to protect.
