September 2025 Update

The Waun Hesgog Energy Park, situated within the UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere, has raised environmental concerns during its ongoing non-statutory consultation.  Its potential effects on nearby sensitive ecosystems and heritage sites have raised important issues.  A primary concern is its impact on peatlands, which serve as crucial carbon sinks and biodiversity hotspots.  The location within the UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere has prompted questions about its alignment with conservation objectives for the area.  Whilst the project could deliver notable environmental benefits through renewable energy, its influence on local ecosystems, landscapes, and cultural heritage remains a significant concern.  Closing date for feedback is Friday, 12th September @ 5pm

At the request of local CPRW members living in Talybont, we set up our CPRW information table to help provide support and information outside the consultation.

Our next branch meeting is on Thursday, 11th September at Denmark Farm for the CPRW Rural Wales Award.  A reminder to let us know if you would like to attend, as the venue has limited space.  Email: cprw.ceredigion @gmail.com

Bryn Cadwgan Energy Park is another wind farm on the Ceredigion/Carmarthenshire Border, which has entered its pre-application consultation period.  In-person consultations are being held on 2nd & 3rdSeptember.  Full details are on their website.
