Flintshire Planning Notes

The below three planning applications are allocated residential sites within FCC’s adopted Local Development Plan (LDP) and were approved by the Planning Inspectors during their examination of the document.

All three applications listed below have recently been dealt with by FCC’s Planning Committee and granted planning consent.

 

061994 – Full application for the erection of residential development of 235 units together

with associated public space and infrastructure on land to the north of

Gwernaffield Road, Mold.

062458 –  Residential development of up to 140 dwellings, means of access, open space,

sustainable drainage infrastructure and all other associated works.  (Outline

application including access, with all other matters reserved).

Well Street, Buckley.

FUL/000769/22 – Full application for erection of 70 dwellings, construction of a new

vehicular access, landscaping and associated works.

Land at Wrexham Road, Abermorddu.

Proposed Connah’s Quay Low Carbon Power Project

This proposed development is for Uniper’s existing power station site at Connah’s Quay

who state they propose to develop a new combined cycle gas turbine power station with carbon capture technology to capture CO2 emissions.  These emissions would be transported (via a link pipeline from the site to a HyNet connection at Flint) to depleted hydrocarbon reservoirs in Liverpool Bay for storage.

The project could support the decarbonisation of the National Grid when there is insufficient generation from wind and solar farms.

Critical infrastructure needed for energy generation is already in place, including connection to the national Grid along with a pipeline to be repurposed to transport the captured CO2.

Development of National Significance

DNS/3251545 – Bretton Hall Solar Farm, Land at Bretton Hall Farm, Chester Road, Flintshire.

This development has now been recommended for planning permission by the Planning Inspector with the exception of the proposed outdoor classroom and associated disabled toilet due to high flood risk and compliance with a number of conditions.
