Part of the borders of the three Counties of Conwy County Borough Council, Denbighshire County Council and Gwynedd County Council meet in the upland area to the east of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia NP) and to the west of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley (CR & DV) National Landscape. This National Landscape and possibly some extra areas adjoining this, are currently being considered for a new north east Wales National Park.

Wind Farm, Energy Park and Battery Energy Storage in this area of villages, farms and dwellings, hills, and the River Dee could lead to significant detrimental and cumulative impacts to the whole area.

This area straddles the south-west of the CPRW Branches of Clwyd, south-east Conwy and east Meirionnydd. BESS – Battery Energy Storage System – an application for one of the largest  BESS installations in the UK near the village of Gwyddelwern, Denbighshire is expected to be made to Denbighshire County Council.
