Caernarfonshire Branch CPRW : Summer Events
This year our themes are Community Enterprises (notably drink) and wild plant communities.
Saturday May 18th Moel y Ci Farm, near Bangor (400m off B4366 on Tregarth road)
Moel y Ci has gone through some difficulties since our last visit but has now re-established itself as a Community Interest Company. We plan a visit for lunch in their restored barn up by the farmhouse.
We will then have a talk about the new developments, both the struggle to establish the CIC and the plans for its future sustainability within the ethos of ecologically sensitive landuse. We will then have an opportunity to take a tour of the farm. Please arrive for lunch at about 12.30pm.

Monday June 10th Nefyn and Clynnog : Brewery and Caeau Tan y Bwlch Wildflower Reserve
Meet 11.45 at the brewery in Nefyn, Cwrw Llyn, Parc Eithin, Ffordd Dewi Sant, LL53 6EG. 45 minute brewery tour with tasting - £4.
Lunch at The Cliffs, Morfa Nefyn, (own cost, choose from menu) c. 1.15pm
2.30 p.m. at Caeau Tan-y-Bwlch, Capel Uchaf, Clynnog Fawr, grid ref SH 431 488.
Guided tour of the nature reserve to look at wild flowers. (Donations to Plantlife please).
Short walk at Coed Elernion above Trefor to look at woodland flora.

Friday July 12th Abergwyngregyn : Gin Distillery, lunch, Hydro scheme and Ancient Woodland
Assemble at car park of Gin Distillery (off A55 J13 towards sea) before 12.00 for tour 40 min £6
Lunch at Hen Felin Community Café in Aber (limited parking, own cost, choose from menu). After lunch we will go to the head of the valley to see the Turbine House of the Community Hydro Scheme with Dr Gavin Gatehouse and take a walk in the ancient woodland to look at the flora.

Saturday September 14th Llanystumdwy : visit to Lloyd George Museum and village walk with Adam Voelcker.
The lunch venue for this trip has not yet been fixed, but we will visit the Museum in the afternoon and then have a village walk guided by Adam Voelcker to look principally at the Clough Williams Ellis buildings and restorations (such as Ty Newydd) and Lloyd George’s grave.

Caernarfonshire CPRW Annual General Meeting Saturday October 5th
Our AGM will take place in Canolfan Y Fron the new Community Hall, shop, cafe and bunk house, newly created from the old village School by Gwynedd County Council.
This is above Carmel, best reached from the A487 at the Groeslon roundabout.
The AGM will start with coffee at 11.30 am and lunch will be available in the café (own cost from menu). We will have a talk after lunch. Details will be announced in the Annual Report
